The Launching Ceremony of Harrow LiDe School Nanning Senior School was Successfully Held

On May 15th, the launching ceremony of Harrow LiDe School Nanning Senior School was successfully held in the auditorium.

The establishment of the senior school is the final piece of the jigsaw under AISL Harrow Nanning’s vision of basing itself in Guangxi, connecting with ASEAN, and facing the world.

Representatives from the Development, Reform, Investment and Trade Promotion Bureau of the Wuxiang New Area Administrative Committee in Nanning, Yongning District Government, Nanning Education Bureau, Nanning Yongning District Education Bureau, HISL, AISL, Oxford University AQA International Qualifications and other educational support units, as well as hundreds of prospective parents, attended this event. They jointly witnessed this unforgettable moment, allowing the educational vision of “Educational Excellence for Life and Leadership ” to benefit more global students and realise their life dreams. 

Harrow LiDe School Nanning Senior School (shortened as “HILA NN Senior School”) is an important part of AISL Harrow Nanning, and it is also the final piece of the jigsaw for AISL Harrow Nanning to complete education from kindergarten to senior school. HILA NN Senior School, supported and guided by Harrow School UK and AISL Group in teaching, educational management, and educational resources, is dedicated to allowing every Harrovian to fully realise their potential, develop personal traits, provide ample opportunities for practice, help students go global, and achieve a brilliant life.

“Building a modernised country and promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, science and technology are key, talent is fundamental, and education is the foundation.” In the speech, AISL Harrow Nanning Head and Principal — Mr Clayton and Ms Cao Yue, mentioned that since AISL Harrow Nanning settled in Guangxi in 2020, it has gone through three stages: kindergarten, G1-G9, and senior school. The completion of Harrow LiDe School Nanning is an effort made to accelerate high-quality development and vigorously write a brilliant chapter of education that implements China’s development. 

To celebrate the establishment of AISL Harrow Nanning Senior school, the Headmaster of Harrow School in the UK, Mr Alastair Land, sent a special video message sharing Harrow’s four core values: Courage, Honour, Humility, and Fellowship, expressing his hopes for more social service cooperation and exchange with AISL Harrow Nanning. 

AISL Harrow Schools are known for its impressive academic achievements. Dr. Hussain, the Chief Education Officer of AISL Group, introduced the academic achievements of the Harrow family over the past three years to the attending parents and guests. In 2023, four AISL Harrow schools entered the top 50 in the UK senior school exams, many students won the “Outstanding Learner” awards, and were admitted to many prestigious universities including Oxford, Cambridge, and Ivy League universities. In addition, he also explained the unique charm of Harrow’s education from a top-level design perspective. 

Since its opening in 2020, AISL Harrow Nanning has been committed to serving as a platform for Chinese and foreign cultural exchange in education. The school has hosted several Chinese and foreign cultural exchange events, allowing more international friends to understand Guangxi and China, while also opening a window for students to understand the diverse world. The British Consul General in Guangzhou, Mr Matt Moody, also sent his congratulations, emphasising that AISL Harrow Nanning is a model of integration in the field of education between China and the UK, and he sincerely hopes that the development of AISL Harrow Nanning will become better and better. 

Former Housemaster of Harrow School in the UK and current Senior Education Consultant at HISL, Mr Andrew McGregor, mentioned in his speech that shared values and a shared vision of education bind the Harrow family closely together. Apart from excellent academics, the Harrow family also focuses on individual development and promotes holistic education. Ultimately, this inspires students to develop lifelong leadership skills. Furthermore, long-term friendly interaction and educational guidance make the relationship between Harrow School and its family of member schools even closer. He wished AISL Harrow Nanning Senior school a better future. 

As a representative of the parents of the students and international talents in Nanning, the Consul General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Nanning, Mr NamTrung Do, also shared his experience. He pointed out: “Education and healthcare are the two most important concerns for international talents working in Nanning. AISL Harrow Nanning is a school that combines tradition and modernity, and Harrow’s four core values—Courage, Honour, Humility, Fellowship—closely link students from all over the world. The good educational environment allows international talents in Nanning to work more confidently without worrying about their children’s education.” 

At the launching ceremony, Deputy Head of Harrow Nanning, Ms Emily Gallagher gave a comprehensive introduction to the AISL Harrow Nanning Senior school project from four aspects: course selection, teacher standards, university guidance, and academic resources. At the same time, AISL Harrow Nanning officially became an examination centre certified by Oxford AQA International Qualifications.

The A-level is not only an examination for senior school graduation in the UK but also one of the internationally standardised exams recognised by nearly 160 countries and regions worldwide. Harrovians will be able to take the A-level exam on campus, competing with students around the world and aiming for prestigious universities.

AISL Harrow Nanning Senior School Nanning will officially start in September 2023, offering one G10 class for students who meet the enrolment conditions for ordinary senior schools in Nanning and some international students who meet the conditions.
