The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award was founded by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh KG, KT in 1956, in conjunction with Kurt Hahn, the German educationalist.
As the global framework for holistic education and learning, the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is a leading youth achievement award with a complete set of guidance and principles. The Award is now operating in more than 130 countries and territories around the world and gains global recognition.

Students are required to complete a set of activities, including volunteering, sports, skills development and outdoor pursuits, within a specified timeframe. The DofE programme encourages students to overcome challenges, explore their potential and set ambitious goals. It is a highly regarded personal development programme that is recognised by leading universities worldwide. It is an excellent addition to a student’s application to top universities.

Harrow Nanning is an authorised DofE independent operation centre, offering G10 above students a wide range of opportunities to achieve DofE medals. In addition, students will gain valuable personal and professional development, while making a positive impact on society and their future careers.
