Headmaster’s Welcome

Welcome message from headmaster/CEO Harrow LiDe School nanning

I am delighted to welcome you to Harrow LiDe School Nanning. Known as “the Green City of China”, Nanning is undergoing a period of rapid development becoming an important part of the One Belt One Road initiative, linking China to neighboring Asean countries and becoming the permanent location for the China-Asean Expo. The opening of the Harrow LiDe School, is another significant milestone in the history of this beautiful city as well as the Guangxi province.

Opening in full in 2021, Governors, Staff and Parents will work in partnership to ensure boundless opportunities enable each child to thrive academically, socially, physically and emotionally. Offering a full K-12 international school experience, Harrow Nanning will indeed “stand on the shoulders of giants” – bringing the world-class educational heritage of Harrow School London to Nanning.

Central to our educational ethos is a commitment to foster the values of ‘Courage’, ‘Honour’, ‘Humility’ and ‘Fellowship’. Together we will educate the next generation of informed citizens, introducing them to the best that has been thought and said, and instilling in them a love of knowledge and culture. A Harrow education is also about the practical business of ensuring that young people receive the preparation they need to secure a good job and a fulfilling career, and have the resilience and moral character to overcome challenges and succeed.

Harrow Nanning proudly shares Harrows’ core values, and as a school celebrates both British custom and its Chinese perspective in striving to cultivate “Leadership for a better world”. Leadership is a critical aspect of all social endeavours; the next generation of leaders from Nanning will, I’m sure, transform communities, shift and deepen perspectives, and build intercontinental bridges in this quickly changing economic landscape.

I’m looking forward to working together to share our ideas and passion for education as well as blending the wisdoms and traditions of local and National Chinese culture, ensuring Nanning’s communities and our Harrovians’ continue their development and success.
